As an avid bathroom user, I’ve come to appreciate the unique opportunity to sit back and really take in all the surrounding details. From having a sticky beak at that fancy face wash your friend has on their counter to counting the galaxy of toothpaste flecks on their mirror, nothing goes unnoticed. The ideal bathroom has the ability to hide beard trimmings all while leaving guests with design goals to aspire to in their own home. In this blog we’ll take you through three of our favourite feature tiles that are sure to add an extra WOW factor to your bathroom.
1. Lay it down. Terrazzo that is.
Terrazzo is back, baby! And I couldn’t be happier. This tile is an absolute go-to if you’re looking at incorporating texture and colour into any space, especially your bathroom. When well balanced, Terrazzo can be used on both your floors and walls, just be sure to keep your ceilings and painted walls fresh and your fittings and fixtures minimal. If you’re not wanting to go too crazy with this attention seeker, you can also create smaller feature moments through backsplashes or choose a terrazzo that sings a little softer, like these ones!

2. Bring it back to Earth
Terracotta is the interior world’s equivalent of a Chameleon, by this I mean put it into any coloured surrounding and it miraculously blends in. With this nifty trick up its sleeve you have the flexibility of incorporating terracotta into almost any space.
Bathrooms can especially benefit from its natural non-uniform appearance by adding warmth and texture to a typically stark space. No matter what surface you’re planning on tiling, play around and get creative with the shape of your tile and how they are laid. Herringbone, square or even hexagon cut tiles are a great way to add some texture and interest. If you’re planning to renovate an older style or heritage home, this technique can help to reclaim authenticity and timelessness. 3. Choice Three – 1 kit kat, 3 colours, 3 looks
If Willy Wonka were planning a grand renovation at the factory, you know for sure these are the tiles he’d be insisting on. However, unlike Mr Wonka’s factory, guests shouldn’t be licking your walls no matter how tempting. These small but mighty tiles pack a punch and a tile I recommend using in small spaces to help add texture and interest. Grout can easily be a second thought, however with so much of it on show with this tile choice it’s a great opportunity to add more character or even subdue the look.
